Connecting an External Power Supply (Optional)
The MX7 receives AC/DC power from the AC/DC 12V Power Supply. The MX7 external power
connection is part of the RS-232 cable assembly and the USB cable assembly.

Putting it all together ….
To apply external power to the MX7 follow the steps below in sequence.
1. Plug the 3 prong adapter cable end of the external power module into an AC power source
(e.g. wall outlet).
2. Squeeze the sides of the power connector and push the MX7 power cable connector into
the MX7 port until it clicks. The click means the connector is seated firmly.
3. Press the power cable connector pin from the power adapter into the connector on the
(USB/Power or RS-232/Power) cable attached to the base of the MX7. AC power is now
being supplied to the MX7.

The System LED above the Scan key illuminates when the MX7 is charging the main battery pack
using external power through the power cable. The backup battery is always being trickle charged
by the main battery pack..

Whenever possible, use the AC power adapter with the MX7 to conserve the main battery power
and maintain a charge in the backup battery.

Assembling the AC Power Adapter
The LXE-approved AC Power Adapter is only intended for use in a 25°C (77°F) maximum
ambient temperature environment.
