Whenever a Macro is assigned to a DX1 Key, the Key number will
appear to the right of the Macro in the Macro List. Likewise, the
Macro name will appear over the assigned DX1 Key. In the example
shown below, the Macro “Save As” has been assigned to DX1 Key
number 1.
If a DX1 Key already has a Macro assigned to it, and you drag and
drop another Macro onto it, the new Macro replaces the old one. The
Key image will have a new caption representing the new Macro
name. The same Macro can be assigned to up to three DX1 Keys.
Macros can also be assigned to Keys by several other methods. You
can right click on a Macro Name in the Macro List and choose
“Assign Macro” to select from a list of DX1 Keys. Alternately, you
can right click on a DX1 Key in the Key Assignment Table to select
from a list of available Macros. As was shown in the Recording
Macros section, DX1 Keys are automatically assigned when you
record Macros directly from within a program.
Unassigning Macros
Unassigning a Macro removes the link between the Macro and a
DX1 Key within a Profile. When you unassign a Macro, the Macro
remains in the Macro List of the Profile, but it will no longer play
when you press the Key. Macros assigned to DX1 Keys can be
unassigned by dragging the Macro away from the Key Image in the
Key Assignment Table.
Drag the Macro Name off the Key Image to unassign a Macro
You can also unassign a Macro by selecting it and choosing “Actions
> Keys > Unassign” from the Menu. Alternately, can also right click
on a Macro in the Key Assignment Table and choose “Unassign.”
The shortcut for unassigning a selected Macro is “Ctrl + U”
DX1 Keys are automatically reassigned when you record a new
Macro over them. The Macro that you replace will remain available
in the Macro List, but the newly recorded Macro will be assigned to
the DX1 Key.

Playing Macros
Once you have created and assigned your Macro to a DX1 Key, you
can play the Macro by pressing the DX1 Key when running the
program you have specified. Ergodex Manager keeps track of all
your Macro assignments, and will play the assigned Macro based
upon the currently active program on your computer. For example,
