Connecting External Devices 
 
Component Video 
Component video takes the advancement from composite (1-signal) to S-Video 
(2-signals) a step further. It carries the Y, R-Y, and B-Y signals separately. Use 
component video to take advantage of the superior picture provided by HDTV 
and progressive scan DVD sources. 
 
4.2  Connecting a DVD Player 
Using the HDMI Connection 
1.  Prepare the HDMI cable (not supplied). 
2.  Connect one end of the corresponding HDMI cable to the HDMI connector on your LCD 
TV. Connect the other end to the connector of the DVD player. 
 
3.  To watch a DVD, turn on your LCD TV, press the 
SOURCE
 button to open the Main Source 
menu. Press T to scroll through the source list and select HDMI as the input source. Press 
ENTER
 to confirm HDMI as your selection. 
4.  Turn on the DVD player. 
NOTES: 
 
For more information, see the instructions supplied with your DVD player. 
 
You can only have audio output via the L-Audio-R Output connector, headphone connector, or speaker 
when you have an HDMI Input connection.
