Establishing a Data Packet Connection
The iDEN Data Packet settings are pre-configured on the device. Ensure that data packet service is available from
your service provider. With a data packet connection you can connect to the internet or transfer data using an
application. Refer to the MC909X Integrator Guide for information on setting up a data packet connection.

When in a call, Data Packet functions cannot be performed until the call has ended.
The iDEN modem supports a raw maximum data rate of 64 kbps. Typical download speeds including all
overhead is approximately 19 kbps.

If the mobile computer is suspended during a data connection the modem does not enter its lowest power
state and is not able to receive incoming SMS messages. The incoming message wakes the mobile
