Installation description
68413 Premium Mute for Audi A8 2006-
with BOSE sound system
with BOSE sound system
Needed items:
A. Car-specific cable with muteboxes.
B. Carkit-extension cable. (Delivered with A)
C. Carkit adaptor.
D. Carkit.
Identification of Sound system:
Start by checking if you have the BOSE logo on the front
speaker grills. If you do not have the BOSE logo a different
cable set is required.

A is always delivered with the Mute-
boxes fitted and together with the Carkit-extension cable.

Uncover the Amplifier. Start by unmounting the
interior cover in the left side of the boot. The amplifier
mounted at the back of the electronic-rack closest to the
wheel arch. This is shown on the pictures on the left. It is at

Install the Carkit-extension cable. Start by connect-
ing the extension cable to the Car-specific cable connector

amplifier unit and forward to the chosen position of the

D (under the steering wheel is recommended). The
cable should be drawn behind the left boot interior-panel
and under the backseats. Afterwards the cable can be
drawn under the cabins side panel-covers to the chosen
placement of the carkit (under the steering wheel) or in the
cable-channel under carpet on the driveshaft channel, when
the carkit is placed in the parking-brake consol (used when
the phone is mounted in the center armrest).

Install the Carkit. Start by connecting the carkit
adaptor
C to the Carkit-extension B. Afterwards the carkit
is unwrapped. The original speaker and power-supply cable

Install the Car-specific cable. First you remove the
two amplifier connectors, one 32 pin and one 18 pin. see
the description for unlocking the connectors on the right.

tor on the amplifier.

Connect the Ignition wire. The ignition wire is connected to a blue fly wire

nector. The wire will have to be manually connected to an switched ignition source as there are no ignition
available in the amplifier connectors, or a IGNIBOX item nr. 69600 can be inserted to generate a artificial igni-
tion. If no ignition is required the blue fly wire can be connected to the Constant 12v bullet
available in the amplifier connectors, or a IGNIBOX item nr. 69600 can be inserted to generate a artificial igni-

No power: Remember to connect the blue flywire see point 5 on previous page. Check for a
blown fuse in the two fuse-holders on the car-specific cable.
No sound: First disconnect the carkit adaptor. Then check if the yellow mute wire on the carkit
adaptor goes low when making a call and high when the telephone is inactive. Second check if
there is sound when connecting the original carkit speaker. If any of these conditions are not met
the carkit is defective.
Telephone sound comes out of the rear speaker: Please make sure that box 1 is connected to
the 8 pin connector with the gray, green, violet and white wires. And that the 6 pin HF connector
with the white wires is connected to box 1 and not box 2.
