PROBLEM
Xerox requires that a Product Safety Declaration be distributed in printed form with all of our products. This
requirement was previously met for the DigiPath Scanner when we included the Safety Declarations in the DigiPath
hard copy Customer documentation.

CAUSE
All Customer documentation for the launch of DigiPath 3.0 in September 2002 was delivered in an electronic
format. As a result, all existing DigiPath 3.0 accounts with a DigiPath Scanner installed do not have the hard copy
Safety declarations document.

SOLUTION
On the next customer visit to a current DigiPath 3.0 site or when installing DigiPath 3.0 with a new DigiPath
Scanner, please present a printed copy of the attached Safety Declarations document to the person closest to or
responsible for the product. This document must be presented at all DigiPath 3.0 sites where a DigiPath Scanner is
installed regardless of whether the installation is an upgrade from an earlier version or a new install.

Product Development is in the process of having the printed Safety Declarations packaged with new-build
scanners. It is not known at this time when new scanners will be delivered to the field with the printed safety
declarations included. An update to this message will announce the inclusion of the Safety Declarations document
and an end to this delivery requirement.
