Question:
"Re−Authentication" button does not appear even after enabling it through WebUI
Symptoms: No Re−authentication button appear on block page even after enabling it through WebUI
"Re−Authentication" feature requires you to have a special string in EUN files in order to operate correctly.
While using on−box EUN pages, the re−authentication button should appear at all times.
While using custom EUN pages, in some cases, the required string may not be there (Example: if you are
using custom EUN template created on older versions) and this would cause the re−authentication button to
not appear.
The special string needed are as below:
%?R − indicates the start of re−auth comment
•
%#R − indicates the end of re−auth comment
•
Any comment in between the above tags would show when "Re−Authentication" is enabled under "GUI >
Network > Authentication
"
On AsyncOS versions 7.1.x and above, re−authentication button appears in the following EUN pages.
ERR_BLOCK_DEST
•
ERR_WEBCAT
•
ERR_CONTINUE_UNACKNOWLEDGED
•
We can download the sample/standard EUN pages from WSA after connecting to it via FTP & examine them
to see if the re−authentication strings are missing from the custom EUN pages.
If needed, we can hand edit your the custom EUN to add the necessary re−authentication strings and then
activate the new custom EUN. Attached excerpt from the User Guide provides instructions on how to modify
EUN pages and then activate them.
