The system hostname is the fully-qualified hostname used to identify the
appliance in the following areas:
the command line interface (CLI)
system alerts
end-user notification and acknowledgement pages
when forming the machine NetBIOS name when the Web Security
appliance joins an Active Directory domain.
The system hostname does not correspond directly to interface hostnames
and is not used by clients to connect to the appliance.
DNS Server(s):

DNS Servers
You can choose to use the Internet root DNS servers for domain name service
lookups when the appliance does not have access to DNS servers on your
network.
Note
Internet Root DNS servers will not resolve local hostnames. If you
need the appliance to resolve local hostnames you must use a local
DNS server or add the appropriate static entries to the local DNS
using the Command Line Interface.
DNS Server(s):
Use these DNS Servers
The local DNS server(s) that the appliance can use to resolve hostnames.
NTP Server
The Network Time Protocol (NTP) server used to synchronize the system
clock with other servers on the network or the Internet.
The default is time.sco.cisco.com.
Time Zone
Affects timestamps in message headers and log files.
