Product Overview
The new Cisco
®
Firewall Security System bundles allow customers to order a 10-Gbps system with
a single product identifier. Each 10-Gbps bundle includes a Cisco Catalyst 6509 or 6513 Switch,
fan tray, Supervisor Engine 720-3B, and two Firewall Services Modules (FWSMs). Each bundle
can be configured with up to four FWSMs to deliver 20 Gbps of performance.
The FWSM for Cisco Catalyst
®
6500 Series Switches and Cisco 7600 Series Routers is a high-
performance, integrated stateful inspection firewall with application and protocol inspection
engines, providing 5.5 Gbps of throughput; 100,000 connections per second; and one million
concurrent connections.
