announces a change in product part numbers for ordering the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Router
System Multichassis System. This is a product part number change only announcement.
Customers will experience no change in functionality when using the new product IDs. The new
product IDs are designed to simplify the customer ordering process. The last day to order the
affected product using the current product IDs is January 31, 2008. Customers will continue to
receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until otherwise specified in the
end-of-life announcement for the new product ID(s). Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones,
definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by
this announcement.
Cisco is moving to a flexible ordering structure to allow for the expanded capacity of the CRS-1
multichassis systems. All future orders for the Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System multichassis
system should use the new product identification numbers. The new multichassis product
identification numbers include the following: CRS-MC-FC24, CRS-16-LCC/M=, CRS-FC24=, and
CRS-16-MC-CONV=. No announcement is being made for end-of-life dates for the hardware or
software products in this bulletin. Only the top-level product identifiers used for ordering a CRS-1
multichassis system are being modified.
