The Cisco IP Phone 8861 and 8865 utilize Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for call control with the following applications.

fast track method utilizing the Cisco Unified IP Phone 9971 as the reference model (use 7975 as reference model if needing
softkey template support). With release 11.0 and later of Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express, the Cisco IP Phone
8865 can utilize the Cisco IP Phone 8861 as the reference model.
