Introduction
This document describes how to install certificates on a Security Management Appliance (SMA).
Prerequisites
The SMA does not support generation of a certificate directly on the appliance. You will need to generate the
self-signed certificate from an ESA as explained in How to generate and install a digital certificate on SMA.
You must have these items available in PEM format:
X.509 certificate
•
Private key that matches your certificate
•
Any intermediate certificates provided by your Certificate Authority
•
Certificates can be used for four different services:
Inbound TLS
•
Outbound TLS
•
HTTPS
•
LDAPS
•
Note
: You can choose to either use the same certificate for all four services or use separate certificates for
each.
Install the Certificates
In order to begin, you will first need to access your SMA via the CLI. This can be done either via telnet or an
SSH client such as PuTTY.
Once logged into the CLI, complete these steps:
Issue the certconfig command.
1.
Issue the setup command.
2.
