Feature Overview
Field diagnostics are available for the Cisco 12000 Series Internet Router to help you isolate faulty
hardware to the level of a field-replaceable unit (FRU). To run field diagnostics, the slot being tested is
taken offline, while the rest of the cards in the chassis continue to operate normally. After you identify
the faulty unit, you can replace it with a spare unit.
