Cisco IPS 7.1(8)E4 contains the following new and changed information:

Signature update S735. 
Continuing support for the IPS 4240, IPS 4255, IPS 4260, ASA 5500 AIP SSM series, IPS 4270-20, 
IPS 4345, IPS 4360, ASA 5585-X IPS SSP series, and ASA 5500-X IPS SSP series.
SSHv2 support has been added to service Host, and a new command allowing you to configure 
fallback to SSHv1, sshv1-fallback. Both SSHv2 and SSHv1 fallback are enabled by default. 
For the show tech-support command, the var/log/messages file now persists across reboots and the 
historical interface data for each interface for 72 hours is now shown in the show tech-support command 
output.
New command, show interfaces-history [traffic-by-hour | traffic-by-minute] past HH:MM
shows interface traffic history by the hour or minutes.
Listing of the field replaceable units for the IPS 4300 series sensors in the show inventory

New command, specify-flow-depth in the service analysis engine submode, lets you configure the 
Regex depth. 
Added persistence of the /var/log/messages file across reboots. 
During password recovery, the default account password (cisco) reverts to the default value (cisco) 
AND the privilege level reverts to the default (administrator).
