Cisco Cisco Packet Data Gateway (PDG)

 

Use this command to configure the descriptive text for the current interface.

Exec > Global Configuration > Context Configuration > Loopback Interface Configuration 

configure > context context_name > interface interface_name loopback

 

Entering the above command sequence results in the following prompt: 

[context_name]host_name(config-if-loopback)#

Specifies the descriptive text to use. For

, enter an alphanumeric string of 0 through 79 characters. If 

spaces or special characters are required, the stirng must be bracketed with double quotation marks. 

Set the description to provide any useful information on the interface’s primary function, services, end users.
