Alarm
Possible Cause
Servicing Instruction
Low RF Output
Level
The forward optical
transmitter module
has low optical output
power
Connector between
the forward optical
transmitter module
and the optical
distributor mismatch
Connector between
the forward optical
transmitter module
and the optical
distributor contains
dusts or contaminants
Link optical
distributor failure
Fiber connector to the
forward receiver
module does not
match the module
connector
Cable or F connector
at the RF output port
has failure
Amplifier chip falure,
and gain cracking
Inspect the optical
output power of the
forward optical
transmitter module to
make it within the
correct range
Check if each optical
connector matches
Make sure all the mating
surfaces of the fiber are
clean
Check if RF connector
matches and
troubleshoot conenctor
failure
Check if link optical
distributor has optical
signals
Use an optical power
meter to measure if the
optical input power
meets the specifications.
The range of optical
input power is -3. 0 dBm
~ +3. 0 dBm
Select AGC mode to
adjust RF output level
Measure if the signal
strength at the RF output
port meets
specifications: larger
than 35 dBmV @channel,
AGC mode, 1310 nm
forward optical
transmitter module,
OMI = 3. 2% (1550 nm
forward optical
transmitter module,
OMI = 3. 0%).
Contact the
manufacturer for
servicing when the RF
output level is still lower
than the value specified
in the specifications
