TROUBLESHOOTING (FAQ)
Problems and Symptoms
Measure
Power does not turn on.
x  Only use a power adapter specifi ed in the user manual.
x  Fully insert the adaptor’s power jack into the DVR’s power receptacle.
x  It sounds a beep when the power is properly supplied, check the output and LED 
indicator.
x  If the problem persists after these actions, replace the main board as this is an 
error from the power system.
LED indicator does not operate.
x  Open the DVR case and properly connect the key cable connector.
Fan does not operate.
x  Check the power is turned on.
x  Connect the fan’s power cable properly to the DVR’s 12V power connector.
x  Remove any foreign substances on or around the cable.
x  If the problem persists after these actions, the fan or DVR is not in normal 
operation. Replace the fan.
DVR produces noise.
x  Remove any foreign substances in the fan unit and operate again.
x  If the fan produces noise itself, its internal bearings are broken; replace the fan.
x  If the problem persists after these actions, check the HDD and replace it if 
necessary.
No output displayed on the LCD or no output 
on RCA Video out.
x  Check the power is turned on.
x  Check the camera.
x  Turn on the DVR's monitor On/Off switch.
x  Connect to RCA Video Out properly.
x  Check whether the connecting cable is cut inside. 
Check the cable by connecting camera and monitor directly.
Replace the cable if required.
HDD is not recognized properly.
x  Check the power is turned on.
x  Check the power and data cables are connected to the HDD properly and restart.
x  If the problem persists after these actions, replace the HDD.
x  Replace the main board if it has a problem with the power system or the bus 
line.
It does not record.
x  Check the HDD.
x  Check the cable, camera and incoming BNC cable for connection.
x  Set the HDD OVERWRITE option to <ENABLE> and check its storing operation 
again.
x  Set the recording type in the Schedule setup and try again.
(ALARM and MOTION modes only records on an event.)
It does not play back.
x  Initialize the DVR using FACTORY DEFAULT, and delete fi les in HDD using CLEAR 
PROCESSING, and then check playback after letting the DVR record for a while.
x  Try several times of HDD recording and deleting, and replace the HDD if the 
problem continues.
x  Check the HDD power and data cables.
