Replacing the EMI clips prevents possible damage to the 

logic board during the installation of expansion boards.

 

Installing a hooked fence on the Ethernet card provides a way 

to hold the card more securely in the communications slot.  

Without the hooked fence, the card could rock out of the slot 

and cause intermittent network connection.
