All sound output features for the Power Macintosh/Server 

G3 computer are provided by an I/O card. The Audio I/O card 

provides one mini jack for sound output on the back of the 

enclosure. The AV I/O card (not available for the Macintosh 

Server G3) provides three sound output connectors—two 

RCA jacks for right and left sound out, and one 1/8-inch 

mini jack for a stereophonic phone plug.

The output jacks are connected to the sound amplifier. The 

mini jack is intended for connecting a pair of headphones or 

amplified external speakers. There is one built-in speaker. 

Inserting a plug into the sound output mini jack disconnects 

the internal speaker.
