System hangs or 

crashes

1 Reinstall system software.

2 Be sure SCSI devices are properly connected.

3 If using an older LC Ethernet card, disable virtual memory.

4 Upgrade the ROMs on the Ethernet card.

5 Replace hard drive.

6 Replace logic board.

System doesn’t 

recognize more than 

10 MB of RAM

Although you can install up to 12 MB of RAM in Performa 400/

405/410/430 computers, 10 MB is the maximum amount of

RAM that the system recognizes.
