Vanishing Point tools
Vanishing Point tools behave like their counterparts in the main Photoshop toolbox. You can use the same keyboard
shortcuts for setting tool options. Selecting a tool changes the available options in the Vanishing Point dialog box.
Edit Plane tool
Selects, edits, moves, and resizes planes.
Create Plane tool
Defines the four corner nodes of a plane and also adjusts the size and shape of the plane. Ctrl-
drag (Windows) or Command-drag (Mac OS) an edge node to tear off a perpendicular plane.
Marquee tool
Makes square or rectangular selections. Drag in the preview image to create a selection. Alt-drag
(Windows) or Option-drag (Mac OS) a selection to tear off a copy of the selection. Ctrl-drag (Windows) or
Command-drag (Mac OS) a selection to fill the selection with a source image. Specify a value for Feather to blur the
edges of the selection. Specifying the Opacity determines to what degree the selection obscures or reveals the image
beneath it. Use the Healing menu to choose a blending mode: choose Off so the selection doesn’t blend with the
colors, shadows, and textures of the surrounding pixels; choose Luminance to blend the selection with the lighting
of the surrounding pixels; or choose On to blend the selection with the color, lighting, and shading of surrounding
pixels. Use the Move Mode menu to determine the behavior when you move a selection. Select Destination to select
the area you move the selection marquee to. Select Source to fill an area with a source image that you move the
selection marquee to (same as Ctrl-dragging or Command-dragging a selection). See also “To use the marquee tools”
on page 316.
Ctrl-dragging (Windows) or Command-dragging (Mac OS) a selection

B. Moving the selection to the source image
C. The source image fills the original selection
Double-clicking the Marquee tool in a plane selects the entire plane.
Stamp tool
Paints with a sample of the image. Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) to establish a
sampling point and then drag in the image to paint with the Stamp tool. Each stroke paints on more of the sample.
You can customize the brush tip by entering values for the brush size (Diameter) and the size of the tool’s hard center
(Hardness). Specifying the Opacity determines to what degree the selection obscures or reveals the image beneath it.
Similar to the Clone Stamp tool, the Vanishing Point Stamp tool lets you paint strokes using blending modes and
specifying an Opacity. Use the Healing menu to choose a blending mode: choose Off to prevent the strokes from
blending with the colors, shadows, and textures of the surrounding pixels; choose Luminance to blend the strokes
