The front USB board and cable are included in the USB Board Kit, spare part number

603683-001.

Before removing the front USB board, follow these steps:

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet

and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the battery (see 

), and then remove the following components:

a. Accessory cover (see 

)

b. Keyboard (see 

Top cover (see 

Remove the front USB board:

Release the ZIF connector to which the front USB board cable is connected, and then disconnect
the front USB board cable (1) from the system board.

Detach the front USB board cable from the clips (2) built into the base enclosure. (The front USB

board cable is also attached to the base enclosure with double-sided tape.)

Remove the front USB board (3).

Reverse this procedure to install the front USB board.
