In FaxTel mode, the MultiPASS monitors all incoming calls to see whether
the call is from another fax machine or from a telephone:

Sending document 

manually

Sending document 

automatically

MultiPASS answers without ringing

MultiPASS listens for FAX TONE

(For 8 sec)

FAX TONE

 detected   

FAX TONE is not detected

Document received 

automatically.

MultiPASS starts ringing

Pick up the 

handset to talk.

If you don’t pick up the handset

(within 15 sec)

Choose between:

Receive (factory default setting) and Disconnect

(Factory default setting)

(FAX TONE is detected 
and the MultiPASS 
switches to receive  
mode.)

The MultiPASS 
disconnects the call.

(Factory default 

setting = 15 sec)

(Factory default 

setting = 8 sec)

Telephone charges 

begin for caller.
