The camera

  When the subject is dark, noise reduction is 
automatically activated. This approximately doubles 
the shooting time during which no other pictures can 
be taken.
Making an overlay image with 
fi reworks 
([
b MULTI FIREWORKS] mode)

 Use 
HI to select [b MULTI 
FIREWORKS], and press the 
A button to 
set.

 Press the shutter button to take the fi rst 
frame.
The exposure is locked at the fi rst frame. The 
saved image is displayed as the background.
  To retake the fi rst shot, press the 
A
 button, 
and then press the shutter button again.

 Adjust the position of the fi reworks that 
will be taken in the second frame over the 
fi rst frame used as the background, and 
then press the shutter button.
The overlay image is saved as a separate 
image from the fi rst and second frames.
  To retake the second shot, press the shutter 
button again.

0 MULTIPLE EXPOSURE] mode)
The method of shooting is the same as 
in [b MULTI FIREWORKS] mode. While 
shooting settings cannot be changed in [b 
MULTI FIREWORKS], it is possible to do so 
in [
0 MULTIPLE EXPOSURE].
Taking pictures with blurred 
backgrounds ([
1 SOFT 
BACKGROUND SHOT] mode)

 Use 
FG to select [
1 SOFT 
BACKGROUND SHOT], and press the 
button to set.

 Use 
HI to select a frame (6 different 
types are available/AUTO), and then 
press the 
A button.
AUTO recognizes the subject (people, 
fl owers, etc) automatically and blurs the 
background for shooting.

 Shoot the subject within the frame.
The frame can be moved by pressing 
FGHI
.
To take pictures of a moving subject 
like a pet ([
 PET] mode)

 Use 
HI to select [
 PET], and press 
the 
A button to set.

 Hold the camera to align the AF target 
mark on the subject and press the 
button.
When the camera recognizes the subject, 
the AF target mark automatically tracks the 
subject movement to focus on it continuously. 
“To focus on a moving subject continuously 
(AF Tracking)” (p. 31).
