KN-304 Quick Configuration Guide
■ Introduction
● Features of the KN-304
The Konica KN-304 Network Board (to be referred simply as the KN-304) is a network interface board for the
Konica IP-011 printer controller. Installing the KN-304 in the IP-011 printer controller enables the Konica 7020
to be used as a network printer. Request installation of the KN-304 to your Konica service representative.
The KN-304 offers the following features:
•
Automatic Selection of 100Base-T (Fast Ethernet) or 10Base-T
•
Supports peer-to-peer printing by TCP/IP from Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 (by using a dedicated utility)
•
Supports lpr/lpd on TCP/IP for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or later (to be referred to as Windows NT/
2000*)
*Windows 2000 will be available in the future.
•
Supports both the bindery mode of Novell NetWare and Novell Directory Service (NDS)
•
Built-in HTTP server enables printer and network board management by linking with the Management
Access Program (MAP) provided and a standard web browser
•
Automatic IP address acquisition by DHCP
•
Use of flash memory allows upgrading of firmware

● Use of the CD-ROM Provided
The CD-ROM provided with the KN-304 is used with Windows 95, 98 and NT. The contents of this CD-ROM
include several utility software programs for using the KN-304 and the “Konica KN-304 Network Board User
Guide” in portable document format (PDF). The Adobe Acrobat Reader also contained on the CD-ROM is
required for reading PDF format documents.
English language softwares for use with the KN-304 contained on this CD-ROM are listed below.
MAP (Management Access Program)
This program detects printers connected with IP/IPX on the network. This makes it possible to
access web utilities loaded on the KN-304, link with a web browser and set the network and printer.
IP-P2P
This realizes peer-to-peer printing by TCP/IP from Windows 95 or 98.
