Note: HushMat Door installation guide is presented as an example of one vehicles door to illustrate the universal application of 

HushMat in all vehicle doors.   Your trim panels, sheet metal, frame configuration might look different – however the application of 

HushMat on a vehicle is consistent.  If you are unsure of your ability to disassemble, install and reassemble your vehicles doors as 

illustrated we advise you to take your vehicle to a custom installation center near you.  You can search for these custom installation

Remove one 10

” x 10” sheet of HushMat Ultra Foil backed damping material 

from the package and place the speaker with cone facing down in the center of 
the sheet.   Use the perimeter of the speaker to score or mark the Ultra around 
the speaker.   Remove the speaker and use household scissors of razor knife to 
cut out the speaker 

“hole”.  Take the round cut out and peel the brown release 

paper from the Ultra.   Pass the cut piece sheet through the largest access hole 
in the frame.   Place it on the outer door skin in the area behind the speaker as 
pictured below.  .    

 

Customers prefer HushMat Ultra black foil as it does not reflect light and will not 
be seen through speaker grills and other access holes in the door panel. 
 

 

 

Repeat these steps on each door you are installing the speakers.
