Replace a remote ringer
If you have purchased this new SN7014 
accessory remote ringer to replace an old 
one, you must deregister the old remote 
ringer first, and then register this new 
remote ringer to your CareLine telephone 
base (SN5127/SN5147).
Deregister remote ringer
If you want to replace a remote ringer, you 
must deregister all the devices, and then 
individually register each device.
If you want to register a remote ringer 
to another telephone base, you must 
deregister all devices, and then register 
each device individually to the desired 
telephone base.
To deregister all devices from the telephone 
base:
1.  Press and hold PAGE on the telephone 
base for about five seconds until the 
visual indicator light on the telephone 
base turns on. Keep holding PAGE until 
the visual ringer indicator light begins to 
flash. Release PAGE.
2.  Immediately press PAGE again while the 
light is still flashing.
You hear a confirmation tone when the 
deregistration process completes. It 
takes about 10 seconds to complete the 
deregistration.
Operating range
The operating range of the remote ringer 
is up to 1,000 feet outdoors or 150 feet 
indoors. The actual operating range may 
vary depending on the environmental 
conditions and other interferences such as 
walls, doors and other obstructions.
3.  Insert the screws into the holes and 
tighten the screws until only 1/4 inch of 
the screws are exposed.
4. Align the wall mount holes of the remote 
ringer with the screws on the wall. Slide 
the remote ringer down until it locks into 
place.
5.  If you choose to run your remote ringer 
with a power supply, connect the power 
adapter to the remote ringer and a 
power supply not controlled by a wall 
switch.
2.  Press and hold   on the remote ringer 
until the green LED light on the remote 
ringer flashes, then release  .
It takes up to 60 seconds to complete 
the registration. When the registration is 
successful, the green LED lights on the 
remote ringer turns to steady on, and the 
telephone base beeps and its visual ringer 
indicator light turns off.
If registration fails, start again from Step 1 
above.
 Note
•  You cannot register a remote ringer if any 
other system device is in use.
2.  Press and hold   on the remote ringer 
until the green LED light on the remote 
ringer flashes, then release  .
It takes up to 60 seconds to complete 
the registration. When the registration is 
successful, the green LED lights on the 
remote ringer turns to steady on, and the 
telephone base beeps and its visual ringer 
indicator light turns off.
If registration fails, start again from Step 1 
above.
 Note

other system device is in use.
To register a remote ringer to the 
SN5147 telephone base:
Connect the remote ringer to a power 
supply or install the batteries before 
registering it to the telephone base.

Install the battery
If you choose to run your remote ringer 
on batteries, install the batteries as shown 
below.
 Notes
•  You need to purchase 3 AA alkaline batteries 
separately to run your remote ringer 
wirelessly.
•  If the remote ringer will not be used for 
a long time, disconnect and remove the 
batteries to prevent possible leakage.
Handset overview

 Caution
•  For hearing protection, do not put 
the remote ringer near your ear as 
loud ringer sound may damage your 
hearing. Adjust the volume to lower 
the ringer sound if you find it too loud.
7 – Alert modes
•  Slide the switch to change the alert 
mode between:
 
Flash only
The LED light flashes when there is an 
incoming call or event triggered.
 
Play melody only
The ringer plays the melody when 
there is an incoming call or event 
triggered.
  Flash and play melody
The ringer plays the melody and the 
LED light flashes when there is an 
incoming call or event triggered.
  Turn off both flash and melody
The ringer does not play the melody 
and the LED light does not flash 
when there is an incoming call or 
event triggered.

General product care
To keep this product working well and looking 
good, follow these guidelines:
•  Avoid putting it near heating appliances and 
devices that generate electrical noise (for 
example, motors or fluorescent lamps).
•  DO NOT expose it to direct sunlight or 
moisture.
•  Avoid dropping the product or treating it 
roughly.
•  Clean with a soft cloth.
•  DO NOT immerse the remote ringer in water 
and do not clean them under the tap.
•  DO NOT use cleaning spray or liquid 
cleaners.
•  Make sure the remote ringer is dry before 
you connect it to the mains again.
Storage
When you are not going to use the remote 
ringer for some time, remove the batteries 
from the remote ringer. Store the remote 
ringer and the power adapter in a cool and 
dry place.

•  The power adapter is intended to be 
correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount 
position. The prongs are not designed to 
hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a 
ceiling, under-the-table or cabinet outlet.
•  Make sure the remote ringer and the power 
adapter cord are out of reach of children.

Mount the remote ringer
 Notes
•  You will need to purchase the following items 
separately to mount your remote ringer:
•  Before mounting your remote ringer, make 
sure you have installed the batteries if you 
choose to run your remote ringer with 
batteries.
1.  Use a pencil to mark two holes in 
parallel. Make sure they are the same 
distance apart as the wall mount holes on 
the remote ringer.
•  Check for signal strength before 
drilling the holes.
2.  Drill two holes in the wall (7/32” drill bit).
•  If you drill the holes into an object 
other than a stud, insert the wall 
anchors into the holes and tap gently 
on the ends with a hammer until the 
wall anchors are flush with the wall.

Test the signal strength
You can mount the remote ringer on a wall. 
Before you mount the remote ringer, 
follow the instructions below to check the 
signal strength between the remote ringer 
and the telephone base. Make sure you 
mount the device in a location where the 
signal strength is good.
Test device signal strength with your 
SN5127/SN5147 telephone
1.  Press MENU on the cordless handset 
when the telephone is not in use.
2.  Press   or   to scroll to Device setup
and then press SELECT.
3.  Press SELECT to select Check signal.
4. Scroll to select Remote ringer, and then 
press SELECT.
5.  When the handset screen displays PLS 
TRIGGER THE DEVICE, make sure your 
remote ringer is powered on, and then 
press SELECT.
6. The handset screen displays AWAITING 
SIGNAL.
•  If the handset screen displays NO 
SIGNAL, press SELECT, and then 
repeat from step 2 to test again.
•  If the handset screen displays WEAK 
SIGNAL, move the remote ringer 
closer to the base, and then adjust 
the remote ringer’s location to 
improve the signal. Press SELECT, and 
then repeat from step 2 to test again.
7.  When the handset screen displays 
GOOD, press SELECT. The testing is 
complete.
