 Handheld RFID Reader Model 702. Retain 

these instructions for future reference. 

Intended use 

The 3M Handheld RFID Reader Model 702 is designed and tested for use 
processing 3M Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Tags. These tags are 
used to identify items, such as books, videocassettes, files, etc., for various 
users. The Model 702: 

§  Reads 3M

TM

 RFID Tags placed in items that are arranged on a shelf or on a desk. 

§  Processes identification codes stored in the RFID tags that can, for example: 

§  be compared with user-generated lists to assess and correct the 

shelf order of the items 

§  aid with reshelving items 

§  aid with sorting items 

§  identify items the user is searching for, based on user-generated 

search lists 

§  associate identified items with storage locations
