Power connection
After installing the roller shutter shaft feed the connecting cable into
the switch and distribution box provided. Lay and fix the cable in such
a way that no damage can arise from the rotating shutters. Lay all feed
cables securely. It is essential to observe the safety guidelines in
these instructions. The drives are intended for connection to the 230V
AC supply network. They cannot be driven together with mains or
demand switches. These could cause damage to the drives. Roller
shutter drives must not be connected in parallel because, with parallel
connection, damage to the drives or switching device can arise. If
more drives are to be used at the same time via one switch
additional multiple control devices
(e.g. Art. 330000) must be used.
Depending on the switching capacity
of the connected switch or controls,
these drives can be connected in
parallel. The drives are supplied with
rubber connecting cables that are to
be laid in accordance with the VDE
regulations. The connection leads
are to be used for laying in “dry
locations”. In case the drives are
used in places that are not “dry
locations”, e.g. outside areas, in
damp locations
or when it cannot be excluded that the
roller shutter boxes, because of their
design or because of roof overhangs or
similar, are reliably protected, drives with
connecting cables that are suitable for the installation situation must be
installed or the cables must be protected by conduits. This also applies
to protection from direct sunlight.

Safety instructions
Only use the roller shutter drives for opening and closing roller shutters and canvas
blinds. The diameter of the shaft must be at least 60mm. Ensure that a roller shutter
drive with a capacity suitable for your shutters is selected. The roller shutter box lid
must be easily accessible and removable (DIN 18073). The electrical mains connection
must only be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with the connection
plans shown in these operating instructions. Observe the VDE regulations, in particular
when in use in damp locations. The mains lead must be protected from moisture or
mechanical influences by a suitable conduit. Do not bend the connection leads too far.
Always secure interruptions in the cabling, connecting terminals etc. with suitable damp
location connection boxes (IP54). The VDE regulations contain mandatory protective
measures. Mortal danger in case of non-respect of these rules! The installation and
connection work must mandatorily be carried out in no-voltage state; for this the feed
cables must be disconnected at all poles from the mains and protected from being
switched on again. The disconnection from the mains must take place with switches that
guarantee a switch contact distance of at least 3mm. Any warranty on our side is voided
if the roller shutter drive is opened. For the maintenance of electrical safety the drive
must not be opened. Observe the instructions under “Power connection of the roller
shutter drive”. Never connect drives in parallel.

We recommend that you recheck the installation thoroughly by
means of the following checklist. The checklist contains frequently
observed installation errors and can help you to avoid oversights.

1. Check the secure seating of the roller bearing in the counter
bearing.
2. Check the secure seating of the square drive shaft in the drive
mounting.
3. Check whether the roller shutter shaft is in balance.
4. Check whether the roller shutter shaft is butting against the
stop of the adaptor ring and the adaptor ring against the stop
of the rotor ring. In the correct position only the thicknesses of
the two stops separate the roller shutter shaft from direct
contact with the drive.

5. Please check whether the shaft cap has been secured against
being moved sideways.
6. Also make certain that no screws are jutting out into the shaft in
the drive area as that would eventually lead to the failure of the
drive.

adjusted with sufficient play of 3cm.
