The default installed layout for the InfiniPath software is described in the following 
paragraphs.

The InfiniPath shared libraries are installed in:

/usr/lib for 32-bit applications
/usr/lib64 for 64-bit applications

MPI include files are in:

/usr/include

MPI programming examples and the source for several MPI benchmarks are in:

/usr/share/mpich/examples

InfiniPath utility programs, as well as MPI utilities and benchmarks, are installed 
in:

/usr/bin

Documentation is found in:

/usr/share/man
/usr/share/doc/infinipath
/usr/share/doc/mpich-infinipath

Configuration files are found in:

/etc/sysconfig

Init scripts are found in:

/etc/init.d

The InfiniPath kernel modules in this release are installed in: 

/lib/modules/‘uname -r‘/updates 

Putting the modules in this directory avoids replacing kernel modules that may be 
provided by your Linux distribution; you may want to use these modules if the 
InfiniPath software is removed. Modules are renamed if they can cause conflicts. 
For example, the module 

ipath_core.ko

 was previously renamed to 

ib_ipath.ko

, but conflicts can arise if 

ipath_core.ko

 is still present. If it is found 

during installation of the infinipath-kernel RPM, 

ipath_core.ko

 is renamed 

ipath_core.ko.bak

. 

Parallel command starters can be used for installation on multiple nodes, but 
this subject is beyond the scope of this document.
