Overview
When you connect one MCCAT switch or more to a TMCAT17 switch, you
are organizing a "two-tier" system.

SECOND-TIER devices, and the TMCAT17 switch that connects these
second-tier devices is the "base switch," belonging to the FIRST TIER.
