microphone
The electronic element in the base of your phone that 
picks up your voice and other sounds.
navigate
A term that refers to the act of moving from one 
Internet site or page to another, or to the act of moving 
from one area of your phone’s memory or menu to 
another.
network services
A term referring to those features and functions 
offered by wireless service providers (in additon to 
voice call services).
non-home type 
system
Any system that does not use the same wireless 
"format" as your home system.
number keys
The numbered keys on your phone’s keypad.
power key
A key on the front of the phone that allows you to turn 
the phone on or off. This key can also be used to recall 
and switch your phone’s profiles.
predictive text 
input
A system developed for rapid text entry using your 
phone’s keypad.
preferred system  
Refers to a system that is the same "format" as your 
home system, but is not the system to which you have 
subscribed.
ringing option
Refers to the way your phone plays (or if it plays) a 
ringing tone when you have an incoming call.
profile
Refers to the various settings relating to your phone’s 
audible, visible and vibrating alerts, and the ability to 
have multiple configurations to match your location or 
environment.
