A buddy list is a list of users and devices whose status, or presence, you can monitor from your phone. 
You can view when your contacts update their presence setting, such as Be right back, Out to lunch, or 
Busy, and in real time from your Buddy list. You can also 

view your buddies’ statuses from Lines view and 

Home view.
