To reduce the risk of electrocution:

1  Do not place or store the product where it can fall or be pulled into a

tub or sink.

2  Do not place the product in or drop it into water or any other liquid.

3  Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water. Unplug

immediately.

4  Do not use the product while bathing.

To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire to persons:

1  Discontinue use if this product appears damaged in any way (brush

head, handle, charger). This product contains no serviceable parts. Refer

to chapter ‘Guarantee and service’ if your Sonicare no longer works

properly or needs repair.

2  Never use the charger if it has a damaged cord or plug.

3  Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

4  Do not use the charger outdoors.

5  Do not use the charger if dropped into water.

6  This product is designed to clean your teeth, gums and tongue only.

Use this product only for its intended use as described in this booklet.

Discontinue use of this product and contact a physician/dentist if

discomfort or pain is experienced.

7  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of

experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety.

8  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the

appliance.

9  Do not use attachments other than those recommended by the

manufacturer.

10  If your toothpaste contains peroxide, baking soda or other bicarbonate

(common in whitening toothpastes), thoroughly clean the brush head

and the handle with soap and water after each use. Otherwise the

plastic may crack.

1  Consult your dental professional before you use this product if you have

had oral or gum surgery in the previous 2 months.

2  Contact your dental professional if excessive bleeding occurs after using

this product or bleeding continues to occur after 1 week of use.

3  If you have a pacemaker or other implanted device contact your

physician or the device manufacturer prior to use.

4  Sonicare has been tested and is compliant with safety standards for

electromagnetic devices.

5  Consult your physician prior to using the Sonicare if you have medical

concerns.

INSTRUCTIONS

The Sonicare For Kids comes with 3 different interchangeable panels.

  1 

 Remove the adhesive backing from the panel. 

  2 

 Apply the panel to the white section on the front of the 

handle (Fig. 2).

  1 

 Rinse the panel in warm water; you may also use a mild detergent to 

clean it.

  2 

 Let the panel air dry.

  3 

 Reapply the panel to the white section on the front of the handle.

  1 

 Align the brush head so the bristles point in the same direction as 

the front of the handle (Fig. 3).

  2 

 Firmly press the brush head onto the metal shaft until it stops. 

  1 

 Plug the charger into a live electrical outlet.

  2 

 Place the handle on the charger (Fig. 4).

 

, The battery charge indicator in the power on/off button flashes to 

indicate that the toothbrush is charging.

 

, When the Sonicare is fully charged, the battery charge indicator stops 

flashing and remains on.

For children under age 8, it is recommended that a parent or adult caregiver

perform tooth brushing.

  1 

 Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste.

  2 

 Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle 

towards the gumline (Fig. 5).

  3 

 Press the power on/off button to turn on the Sonicare.

  4 

 Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare’s effectiveness and let the 

Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you.

  5 

 Gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back 

and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between the teeth. 

Continue this motion throughout the brushing cycle.

  6 

 Begin brushing in section 1 (outside top teeth) a series of musical 

notes indicate it is time to move to section 2 (inside top teeth). At 

the next series of notes move to section 3 (outside bottom teeth). 

The next series of notes indicate it is time to move to section 4 

(inside bottom teeth). The toothbrush will automatically turn off at 

end of the brushing cycle (Fig. 6).

  7 

 After you have completed the brushing cycle, you can spend 

additional time brushing the chewing surfaces of your teeth and areas 

where staining occurs. You may also brush your tongue, with the 

toothbrush turned on or off, as you prefer (Fig. 7).

Your Sonicare is safe to use on:

- Braces (brush heads wear out sooner when used on braces)

- Dental restorations (fillings, crowns, veneers)

The toothbrush automatically starts in the default high mode.

 Press the brushing mode button to toggle between modes (Fig. 8).

 

, The green mode light indicates the selected mode.

- High mode: Full-strength mode designed for older/independent

brushers.

- Low mode: Reduced power mode used for training and introducing

younger children to the sonic experience.
Features
KidTimer

- The KidTimer plays a congratulatory sound sequence at the end of the

pre-determined brushing time. Additionally, the KidTimer automatically

turns off the handle when the brushing cycle is complete.

- When in high mode, the KidTimer is set at 2 minutes.

- When in low mode the KidTimer is set at 1 minute and slowly increases

over time. The progression of time helps young children reach the

dentist recommended 2 minutes of brushing.

The KidPacer uses a short series of musical notes to alert the brusher to

move to the next brushing quadrant of the mouth. This ensures that the

child gets a thorough, overall clean (see ‘Brushing instructions’).

- The Sonicare For Kids comes with the Easy-start feature activated.

- The Easy-start feature gently increases the power over the first 14

brushings.

 Attach the brush head to the handle.

  2 

 Place the handle in the plugged-in charger.

- To deactivate Easy-start:

Press and hold the power on/off button for 2 seconds. You hear 1 beep to

indicate that the Easy-start feature has been deactivated.

- To activate Easy-start:

Press and hold the power on/off button for 2 seconds. You hear 2 beeps to

indicate that the Easy-start feature has been activated.
Note: Using the Easy-start feature beyond the initial ramp-up period is not 

Do not clean brush heads, handle, charger, charger 

cover or interchangeable panels in the dishwasher.

 Remove the brush head and rinse the metal shaft area with warm 

water (Fig. 9).

Do not push on the rubber seal on the metal shaft with sharp objects, as 

this may cause damage.

 Use a damp cloth to wipe the entire surface of the handle.

  1 

 Rinse the brush head and bristles after each use (Fig. 10).

  2 

 Remove the brush head from the handle and rinse the brush head 

connection at least once a week with warm water (Fig. 10).
Charger

  1 

 Unplug the charger before cleaning.

  2 

 Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface of the charger.

- If you are not going to use the Sonicare for an extended period of

time, unplug the charger from the electrical outlet, clean it and store it

in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.

- You can store a brush head on the brushing head holder at the back of

the charger.
Replacement
Brush head

- Replace Sonicare brush heads every 3 months to achieve optimal

results.

- Use only Sonicare For Kids replacement brush heads.

- The rechargeable battery inside your Sonicare cannot be replaced, but

it is easy to remove for recycling. At the end of the toothbrush’s life

and prior to disposal, please remove the rechargeable battery from the

handle by following the instructions below.

- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste

at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for

recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 11).

- The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances that may pollute

the environment. Always remove the battery before you discard the

appliance, and recycle or dispose of the battery according to local waste

management requirements.

- If you have any recycling questions, contact your local waste

management office.
Removing the rechargeable battery 

Please note that this process is not reversible.

- To remove the rechargeable battery, you need a flat-head (standard)

screwdriver. Observe basic safety precautions when you follow the

procedure outlined below. Be sure to protect your eyes, hands, fingers,

and the surface on which you work.

  1 

 To deplete the rechargeable battery of any charge, remove the handle 

from the charger, turn on the Sonicare and let it run until it stops. 

Repeat this step until you can no longer turn on the Sonicare.

  2 

 Insert a screwdriver into the slot located in the bottom of the handle 

and turn counterclockwise until you see a gap between the bottom 

cap and the handle (Fig. 12).

  3 

 Insert the screwdriver into the gap and pry the bottom cap out of the 

handle (Fig. 13).

  4 

 Hold the handle upside down and push down on the shaft to release 

the internal components of the handle (Fig. 14).

  5 

 Insert the screwdriver under the circuit board, next to the battery 

connections, and twist to break the connections. Remove the circuit 

board and pry the battery from the plastic carrier (Fig. 15).

The rechargeable battery can now be recycled or disposed of and the rest

of the product discarded appropriately.

Philips guarantees its products for two years after the date of purchase.

Defects due to faulty materials and workmanship will be repaired or

replaced at Philips expense provided that convincing proof of purchase in

the qualifying period is provided.

What is not covered under warranty:

- Brush heads

- Interchangeable panels

- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, alterations or unauthorized

or fading.

L’APPAREIL

Pour éviter tout risque d’électrocution :

1  Ne placez pas et ne rangez pas le produit à un endroit où il peut

tomber dans une baignoire ou un évier.

2  Ne placez pas et n’échappez pas le produit dans de l’eau ou tout autre

liquide.

3  Ne touchez pas le produit s’il est tombé dans l’eau. Débranchez-le

immédiatement.

4  N’utilisez pas l’appareil en prenant un bain.

Pour éviter tout risque de brûlure, d’électrocution, d’incendie ou d’accident :

1  Cessez d’utiliser cet appareil s’il vous semble endommagé de quelque

façon que ce soit (tête de brossage, manche, chargeur). Ce produit ne

contient pas de pièces remplaçables. Consultez le chapitre «Garantie et

service» si votre appareil Sonicare ne fonctionne plus correctement ou

consultez votre médecin ou le fabricant du dispositif implanté avant

d’utiliser cet appareil.

4  Sonicare a fait l’objet de tests et est conforme aux normes de sécurité

concernant les dispositifs électromagnétiques.

5  Consultez votre médecin avant d’utiliser votre Sonicare pour toutes

préoccupations d’ordre médical.

CONSERVEZ CES 

INSTRUCTIONS

La brosse Sonicare pour enfants est livrée avec 3 panneaux

interchangeables.

  1 

 Retirez l’endos adhésif du panneau. 

  2 

 Appliquez le panneau sur la section blanche à l’avant du 

manche (fig. 2).

  1 

 Rincez le panneau dans l’eau tiède. Au besoin, lavez-le avec un 

détergent doux.

  2 

 Laisser sécher le panneau.

  3 

 Appliquez le panneau sur la section blanche à l’avant du manche.

  1 

 Alignez la tête de brosse de façon que les soies pointent dans la 

même direction que l’avant du manche (fig. 3).

  2 

 Pressez fermement la tête de brossage sur la tige de métal jusqu’à ce 

qu’elle s’arrête. 

  1 

 Branchez le chargeur sur une prise.

  2 

 Placez le manche dans le chargeur (fig. 4).

 

, L’indicateur de charge du bouton marche-arrêt clignote pour indiquer 

que la brosse à dents est en cours de charge.

 

, Lorsque la brosse Sonicare est complètement chargée, le voyant 

arrête de clignoter et demeure allumé.

La supervision d’un adulte est recommandée pour les enfants de moins de

8 ans.

 Mouillez les soies et appliquez une petite quantité de dentifrice 

dessus.

  2 

 Placez les soies de la tête de brossage sur les dents, légèrement de 

biais vers la gencive.  (fig. 5)

  3 

 Appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt pour mettre l’appareil Sonicare 

en marche.

  4 

 Appliquez une légère pression pour maximiser l’efficacité de la brosse 

à dents Sonicare et laissez-la faire le brossage pour vous.

  5 

 Déplacez lentement la tête de brosse le long de vos dents avec 

un léger mouvement de va-et-vient, de sorte que les soies les plus 

longues atteignent les espaces interdentaires. Continuez ainsi jusqu’à 

la fin du cycle de brossage.

  6 

 Commencez par la section 1 (dents de la mâchoire supérieure 

à l’extérieur). Des notes musicales indiquent quand passer à la 

section 2 (dents de la mâchoire supérieure à l’intérieur). Les notes 

musicales suivantes indiquent quand passer à la section 3 (dents de 

la mâchoire inférieure à l’extérieur). Les notes musicales suivantes 

indiquent quand passer à la section 4 (dents de la mâchoire inférieure 

à l’intérieur). La brosse s’éteint automatiquement à la fin du cycle de 

brossage (fig. 6).

  7 

 À la fin du cycle de brossage, vous pouvez brosser la surface des 

molaires et les endroits qui sont portés à devenir tachés. Vous pouvez 

aussi brosser votre langue, la brosse à dents en marche ou non, au 

choix (fig. 7).

La brosse à dents Sonicare est sans danger pour les:

- les appareils orthodontiques (les têtes de brossage s’useront plus

rapidement dans ce cas)

- les restaurations dentaires (obturations, couronnes, facettes)

La brosse démarre automatiquement en mode maximum.

  1 

 Appuyez sur le bouton marche/arrêt pour alterner entre les 

modes (fig. 8).

 

, Le voyant de mode vert indique le mode sélectionné.

- Mode maximum : brossage pleine puissance pour adolescents et adultes.

- Mode minimum : brossage doux pour l’apprentissage et les enfants.

- La fonction KidTimer émet un signal sonore à la fin de la période de

brossage et éteint la brosse à la fin du cycle de brossage.
