Open the battery compartment lid at
the rear of the radio.

Insert one R6 (size AA) battery (not
supplied) with the 3 and # marks
aligned correctly.

Close the battery compartment lid.

Battery life (approx. hours)

* Measured by JEITA (Japan Electronics and

Information Technology Industries
Association) standards. The actual battery life
may vary depending on the circumstance of
the unit.

Replace the battery when the sound becomes
weak or distorted. Remove the old battery and
insert a new one.

• Do not charge the dry battery.
• Do not carry the dry battery with coins or other

metallic objects. It can generate heat if the
positive and negative terminals of the battery
are accidentally contacted by a metallic object.

• When you are not going to use the unit for a

long time, remove the battery to avoid damage
from battery leakage and corrosion.

Put in one side of the lid as illustrated.

Push the other side to attach.

Connect the supplied stereo earphones
to i (headphones) jack.

Set POWER to ON to turn on the radio.

Turn TUNE to tune in a station.

Adjust VOL (volume).

• To turn off the radio, set POWER to OFF.
• To improve reception

Extend the stereo earphones cord which
functions as the FM antenna.

• Set SENS to LOCAL if interference is prevalent

when radio wave intensity is dramatically
stronger.
Under normal conditions, set to DX.

Use the belt clip when attaching the unit to your
belt.

• Operate the unit only on 1.5 V DC with one R6

(size AA) battery.

• The nameplate indicating operating voltage,

etc. is located on the rear exterior.

• Avoid exposure to temperature extremes,

direct sunlight, moisture, sand, dust or
mechanical shock. Never leave in a car parked
in the sun.

• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the

unit, remove the battery and have the unit
checked by a qualified personnel before
operating it any further.

• In vehicles or buildings, radio reception may

be difficult or noisy. Try listening near a
window.

• To clean the casing, use a soft cloth dampened

with a mild detergent solution.

• This product is not designed to be water-

resistant, so you should take care to use the
unit when raining, snowing or in a water-
splash place.

Road safety
Do not use earphones while driving, cycling, or
operating any motorized vehicle. It may create a
traffic hazard and is illegal in many areas. It can
also be potentially dangerous to play your
earphones at high volume while walking,
especially at pedestrian crossings. You should
exercise extreme caution or discontinue use in
potentially hazardous situations.
Preventing hearing damage
Avoid using earphones at high volume.
Hearing experts advise against continuous, loud
and extended play. If you experience a ringing in
your ears, reduce volume or discontinue use.
Caring for others
Keep the volume at a moderate level. This will
allow you to hear outside sounds and to be
considerate to people around you.

If there is lightning when you are using the unit,
take off the earphones immediately.

If you have any questions or problems
concerning your unit, please consult your nearest
Sony dealer.

Industries Association). L’autonomie réelle de
la batterie peut être différente selon les
circonstances.

Remplacez la pile quand le son s’affaiblit ou
présente des distorsions. Retirez la pile usée et
insérez une pile neuve.

• Ne pas recharger la pile.
• Ne pas transporter la pile avec des pièces de

monnaie ou des objets métalliques. De la
chaleur peut se dégager si les bornes positive et
négative sont mises en contact par un objet
métallique.

• Si vous prévoyez de ne pas utiliser l’appareil

pendant longtemps, retirez la pile pour éviter
toute fuite et corrosion.

Insérez un côté du couvercle comme
indiqué sur l’illustration.

Appuyez sur l’autre côté de l’attache.

Raccordez le casque stéréo fourni à la
prise i (casque).

Réglez POWER sur ON pour allumer la
radio.

Tournez TUNE pour accorder une
station.

Ajustez le volume avec la molette de
réglage VOL.

• Pour éteindre la radio, réglez POWER sur OFF.
• Pour améliorer la réception

Déployez le cordon du casque stéréo car il sert
d’antenne FM.

• Réglez SENS sur LOCAL si les interférences

dominent quand l’intensité du signal sonore
est la plus forte.
Dans des conditions normales, réglez sur DX.

Utilisez l’attache pour accrocher l’appareil à
votre ceinture.

• Faites fonctionner l’appareil seulement sur le

courant continu de 1,5 V CC avec une pile R6
(taille AA).

• La plaquette signalétique, indiquant la tension

de fonctionnement, etc., se trouve à l’arrière de
l’appareil.

• Évitez d’exposer l’appareil à des températures

extrêmes, aux rayons directs du soleil, à de
l’humidité, du sable, de la poussière ou des
chocs mécaniques. Ne le laissez jamais dans un
véhicule garé en plein soleil.

• Si un solide ou un liquide pénétrait dans

l’appareil, retirez-en les piles et faites-le vérifier
par un technicien compétent avant de le
remettre en service.

• Dans un véhicule ou un bâtiment, la réception

des ondes radio peut être difficile ou parasitée.
Si possible, écoutez près d’une fenêtre.

• Pour nettoyer le coffret, servez-vous d’un

chiffon doux, imprégné d’une solution
détergente neutre.

• Ce produit n’est pas étanche et il faut faire

attention de ne pas le mouiller s’il est utilisé
par temps de pluie, de neige ou à un endroit où
il y a des risques d’éclaboussures.

Sécurité routière
N’écoutez pas avec des écouteurs pendant la
conduite d’une voiture, d’un vélo ou de tout
véhicule motorisé. Cela peut être dangereux et
c’est en outre interdit dans certains pays.
Il peut être également dangereux d’écouter à
volume élevé tout en marchant, spécialement
aux croisements. Soyez toujours extrêmement
prudent et cessez d’écouter dans les situations
présentant des risques d’accident.
Prévention des dommages auditifs
Evitez les écouteurs à volume élevé.
Les spécialistes de l’audition déconseillent une
écoute continuelle à volume trop élevé. Si vous
percevez un sifflement dans les oreilles, mieux
vaut réduire le volume ou cesser d’écouter.
Civisme
Maintenez un volume modéré d’écoute. Vous
pourrez ainsi entendre les sons extérieurs et être
attentif aux gens qui vous entourent.

Si vous utilisez votre radio pendant un orage et
qu’il y a des éclairs, retirez les écouteurs
immédiatement.

Öffnen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel an
der Rückseite des Radios.

Legen Sie eine R6/AA-Batterie (nicht
mitgeliefert) unter Beachtung der 3/
#

-Markierungen ein.

Schließen Sie den Batteriefachdeckel.

Batterielebensdauer
(ungefähre Angaben in Stunden nach JEITA*)

*  Gemessen nach dem JEITA-Standard (Japan

Electronics and Information Technology
Industries Association). Die tatsächliche
Batterielebensdauer kann je nach
Betriebsbedingungen unterschiedlich sein.

Wechseln Sie die Batterie, wenn der Ton
schwach oder verzerrt wird. Nehmen Sie die alte
Batterie heraus und legen Sie eine neue ein.

• Versuchen Sie niemals, Trockenbatterien

aufzuladen.

• Stecken Sie Trockenbatterien niemals

zusammen mit Münzen oder anderen
Metallgegenständen in eine Tasche. Ansonsten
kann es durch Kurzschluss der
Batteriekontakte  zu Hitzeentwicklung
kommen.

• Wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht

verwenden, nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus,
um Korrosionsschäden und sonstige Schäden
durch Auslaufen der Batterie zu vermeiden.

Wenn der Batteriefachdeckel
versehentlich abgegangen ist

Setzen Sie die eine Seite des Deckels
wie in der Abbildung gezeigt ein.

Drücken Sie die andere Seite in die
richtige Position.

Schließen Sie den mitgelieferten Stereo-
Ohrhörer an die i-Buchse an.

Stellen Sie POWER auf ON, um das
Radio einzuschalten.

Stimmen Sie an TUNE auf den Sender
ab.

Stellen Sie an VOL die Lautstärke ein.

• Zum Ausschalten des Radios stellen Sie

POWER auf OFF.

• Für optimalen Empfang:

Breiten Sie das Kabel des Stereo-Ohrhörers auf
volle Länge aus. Das Kabel dient gleichzeitig
als UKW-Antenne.

• Wenn aufgrund von sehr starken

Sendesignalen Interferenzstörungen auftreten,
stellen Sie SENS auf LOCAL. Normalerweise
sollte der Schalter jedoch auf DX stehen.

Mit dem Clip können Sie das Gerät am Gürtel
anbringen.

• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur an 1,5 V

Gleichspannung (mit einer R6/AA-Batterie).

• Das Typenschild mit Angabe der

Betriebsspannung usw. befindet sich an der
Rückseite.

• Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen extremen

Temperaturen, keinem direkten Sonnenlicht,
keiner Feuchtigkeit, keinem Sand, keinem
Staub und keinen Stößen aus. Lassen Sie es
auch nicht in einem in der Sonne geparkten
Auto zurück.

• Wenn ein Fremdkörper oder Flüssigkeit in das

Gerät gelangt, nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus,
und lassen Sie das Gerät von Fachpersonal
überprüfen, bevor Sie es weiterverwenden.

• In Fahrzeugen und Gebäuden kann der

Empfang schwach und verrauscht sein.
Betreiben Sie das Gerät dann möglichst in der
Nähe eines Fensters.

• Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung des Gehäuses

ein weiches, leicht mit einem milden
Haushaltsreiniger angefeuchtetes Tuch.

• Das Gerät ist nicht vollkommen wasserdicht.

Schützen Sie es vor Regen, Schnee und Wasser.

Verkehrssicherheit
Verwenden Sie beim Autofahren, Fahrradfahren
oder Betrieb irgendeines motorisierten
Fahrzeugs keinen Ohrhörer, da dies gefährlich
und in vielen Ländern gesetzlich verboten ist.
Auch beim Gehen kann Ohrhörerbetrieb mit
hoher Lautstärke gefährlich sein, insbesondere
an Kreuzungen und Fußgängerüberwegen.
Nehmen Sie den Ohrhörer in
Gefahrensituationen sofort ab.
Vermeidung von Gehörschäden
Betreiben Sie den Ohrhörer nicht mit hoher
Lautstärke, da dies schädlich für Ihre Hörorgane
ist. Wenn Sie ein dumpfes Gefühl in Ihren Ohren
verspüren, reduzieren Sie die Lautstärke oder
nehmen Sie den Ohrhörer ab.
Rücksicht auf andere
Stellen Sie stets nur einen mäßigen
Lautstärkepegel ein. So können Sie
Außengeräusche noch wahrnehmen und andere
Leute werden nicht gestört.

Bei einem Gewitter nehmen Sie umgehend den
Ohrhörer ab.

Bei weiterführenden Fragen wenden Sie sich
bitte an den nächsten Sony Händler.

cortocircuitasen con un objeto metálico.

Coloque un lado de la tapa como se

Extienda el cable de los auriculares, porque

interferencias continuas. En condiciones
normales, deje el selector en DX.

• Alimente la unidad solamente con 1,5 V cc con

• La placa de características en la que se indica la

tensión de alimentación y demás información
importante se encuentra en la parte posterior
exterior.

• Evite la exposición a temperaturas extremadas,

a la luz solar directa, a la humedad, a la arena,
al polvo, y a golpes. No deje nunca la unidad
en un automóvil estacionado al sol.

• Si dentro de la unidad cae algún objeto sólido o

líquido, extráigale la pila, y haga que sea
comprobada por personal cualificado antes de
volver a utilizarla.

• En vehículos o edificios, la radiorrecepción

puede resultar difícil o ruidosa. Trate de
escuchar cerca de una ventana.

• Para limpiar la unidad, utilice un paño suave

humedecido en una solución poco concentrada
de detergente.

• Esta unidad no ha sido diseñada para resistir el

agua, por lo que no deberá utilizarla cuando
llueva, nieve, ni en ningún otro lugar con
salpicaduras de agua.

Seguridad en la carretera
No utilice los auriculares cuando conduzca, vaya
en bicicleta, o maneje cualquier vehículo
motorizado.  Esto podría suponer un peligro
para el tráfico, y es ilegal en ciertos países.
También puede resultar potencialmente
peligroso escuchar a través de los auriculares a
gran volumen mientras camine, especialmente en
pasos cebra.  En situaciones potencialmente
peligrosas, deberá tener mucho cuidado o dejar
de utilizar los auriculares.
Cuidado de sus oídos
Evite utilizar los auriculares a gran volumen.
Los expertos en oídos no aconsejan la escucha
prolongada a gran nivel.  Si experimenta un
silbido en sus oídos, reduzca el volumen, o deje
de escuchar a través de los auriculares.
Respeto a los demás
Mantenga el volumen a un nivel moderado.  Esto
le permitirá escuchar los sonidos del exterior y
respetar a quienes se encuentren a su alrededor.

Cuando esté utilizando la unidad, si hay una
tormenta eléctrica, quítese inmediatamente los
auriculares.

Vervang de batterij wanneer het geluid zwak of
vervormd gaat klinken. Verwijder dan de oude
batterij en leg een nieuwe batterij in het
batterijvak.

• Probeer nooit om de droge batterij op te laden.
• Steek de droge batterij nooit samen met

muntstukken of andere metalen voorwerpen in
uw zak. Indien de plus en min pool van de
batterij per ongeluk in contact komen met
metalen voorwerpen, kan een gevaarlijke hitte-
ontwikkeling optreden.

• Als u het apparaat langere tijd niet denkt te

gebruiken, neem dan de batterij uit het
batterijvak om lekkage of corrosie van de
batterij te voorkomen.

Maak een kant van het deksel vast zoals
afgebeeld.

Duw tegen de andere kant om deze te
bevestigen.

Sluit de bijgeleverde stereo oortelefoon
aan op de i (hoofdtelefoon) aansluiting.

Zet de POWER schakelaar op ON om
de radio in te schakelen.

Draai aan de TUNE afstemknop om op
een radiozender af te stemmen.

Stel de geluidssterkte in met de VOL
regelaar.

• Om de radio uit te schakelen, zet u de POWER

schakelaar op OFF.

• Verbeteren van de radio-ontvangst

Strek het snoer van de stereo oortelefoon zo ver
mogelijk uit, want dit snoer doet tevens dienst
als FM-antenne.

• Zet de SENS schakelaar in de LOCAL stand als

krachtige aangrenzende zenders storing in de
ontvangst veroorzaken. Onder normale
omstandigheden kunt u deze schakelaar in de
DX stand laten staan.

Gebruik de ceintuurklem om het apparaat aan
uw ceintuur vast te maken.

• Gebruik dit apparaat uitsluitend op 1,5 V

gelijkstroom van één R6 (AA-formaat) batterij.

• Een naamplaatje met gegevens als de

bedrijfsspanning e.d. bevindt zich aan de
achterkant van de radio.

• Stel de radio niet bloot aan extreme hitte of

koude, niet aan directe zonnestraling, vocht,
stof, zand, of mechanische trillingen of
schokken. Nooit achterlaten in een auto die in
de zon geparkeerd staat.

• Mocht er vloeistof of een voorwerp in het

toestel terechtkomen, maak de
netspanningsadapter dan los en verwijder de
batterijen; laat het toestel eerst door bevoegd
vakpersoneel nakijken alvorens het weer in
gebruik te nemen.

• In voertuigen of gebouwen kan de radio-

ontvangst wel eens problematisch zijn of met
storing gepaard gaan. Probeer dan of de
ontvangst beter lukt in de buurt van een raam.

• Als het toestel vuil is, kunt u het schoonmaken

met een zacht doekje, licht bevochtigd met wat
milde huishoudzeep.

• Dit apparaat is niet waterbestendig. Let

daarom goed op wanneer u het apparaat bij
regen of sneeuw gebruikt, of op plaatsen waar

Voor veilig verkeer
Luister niet via een oortelefoon tijdens
autorijden, fietsen en dergelijke. Het is gevaarlijk
en op veel plaatsen verboden. Zelfs als u gewoon
over straat loopt, kan luisteren met een te hoog
volume al gevaar met zich meebrengen. U hoort
minder, met als gevolg meer risico bij het
oversteken van de straat, weg of spoorlijn. Wees
voorzichtig en neem de oortelefoon af bij de
geringste kans op een gevaarlijke situatie.
Denk om uw oren
Blijf niet te lang achtereen luisteren naar een luid
ingestelde oortelefoon.
Deskundigen waarschuwen tegen langdurige
blootstelling aan harde geluiden. Verminder de
geluidssterkte of neem de oortelefoon af
wanneer uw oren suizen.
Houd rekening met anderen
Houd de geluidssterkte altijd binnen redelijke
grenzen, zodat u geluid van buitenaf kunt horen
en geen overlast veroorzaakt aan omstanders.

Als er bliksem is terwijl u buiten naar dit
apparaat aan het luisteren bent, neem dan
