The following messages may appear on the LCD screen. 

• The lens cap is attached.

• The disc cover is open.

• No disc is inserted. Insert a disc (page 20).

• Trouble has occurred with the disc drive.

• Trouble has occurred with the disc drive or the camera.

• The inserted disc cannot be used with your camera, is damaged, is dirty, or cannot be read due to 

vibration.

• Moisture condensation has occurred inside the camera. Turn off the camera and wait for about an hour 

for the moisture to evaporate before use (page 118).

• The disc was protected with a computer or the disc was automatically protected with a camera, and 

cannot be recorded.

• A folder with the same name already exists on the disc.

• The remaining disc space is insufficient for any operation other than finalization.

• The disc has not been initialized, so images cannot be recorded by the camera. Initialize the disc 

(page 21).

• The disc has already been initialized, so initialization is not necessary.

•  The disc has already been finalized, so finalization is not necessary.

• No image has been recorded on the disc.

• An error occurred while playing back the image.

• You are playing back an image of a size larger than can be played back with your camera.

• You are playing back a file that was created on equipment other than your camera.

• The image is protected against erasure.
