Using the Playback 
Zoom
1 Press [

2 Rotate the rear dial right to 
enlarge the picture.

• The magnification becomes lower when 
you rotate the rear dial left after 
enlarging the picture. The magnification 
becomes higher when you rotate the 
rear dial right.
• When you change the magnification, 
the zoom position indication 
A appears 
for about 1 second so that you can 
check the position of the enlarged 
section.
3 Press 
3/4/2/1 to move the 
position.
• When you move the position to be 
displayed, the zoom position indication 
appears for about 1 second.
∫ To stop using the playback zoom
Rotate the rear dial left or press [MENU/
SET].
∫ Switching the displayed image while 
maintaining the playback zoom
You can switch the displayed image while 
maintaining the same zoom magnification 
and zoom position for the playback zoom.
Rotate the front dial during 
playback zoom to switch images.
: To move to the previous image.
: To move to the next image.
∫ Deleting a picture during the playback 
zoom
1 Press [

3 to select [YES].
3 Press [MENU/SET].
• Even if the indications on the screen are 
turned off in normal playback mode (P48), 
the magnification and operation appear on 
the screen when the playback zoom is 
activated. You can switch between 
displaying or not displaying the indications 
on the screen by pressing [DISPLAY]. 
When you set the magnification to 1
a, the 
indications on the screen are displayed as 
in normal playback mode.
• The more a picture is enlarged, the 
rougher it becomes.
• If you want to save the enlarged picture, 
use the trimming function. (P116)
• The playback zoom may not operate if 
pictures have been recorded with other 
equipment.
• The zoom magnification and the zoom 
position are canceled when the camera is 
turned off (including power save mode).
• The zoom position returns to the center in 
the following images.
– Images with different aspect ratios
– Images with different numbers of 
recorded pixels
– Images with a different rotation direction 
(when [ROTATE DISP.] is set to [ON])
