Using the Optional External Viewfinder
When using the external live viewfinder (DMW-LVF1; optional), you can view the recording 
screen even when taking pictures with a low camera angle.
Preparations: 
Turn off the camera.
Remove the hot shoe cover that is attached to the camera. (P14)
Insert the optional external viewfinder fully and securely into the hot 
shoe
Press the lower part of the external viewfinder with your 
finger, and securely insert the connector as well.
(Do not press on the viewfinder part)

B Dedicated connector for external viewfinder
C [LVF/LCD]
D Finder
Switch [ON] the camera.
[
 ] is displayed on the LCD monitor.
It may not be connected properly if it does not display.
Switch to and from the optional external viewfinder by pressing [LVF/
LCD].
You can switch between LCD (LCD monitor) display and LVF (Viewfinder) display.
Switching via the [LVF/LCD] button will be maintained even when the power of the 
digital camera is turned [OFF].

Switch the power [OFF]

Return the angle of the external viewfinder to its 
original position if it has changed.

Pull in the direction of the arrow and remove
Reattach the hot shoe cover in its original position.
