. “6-5-1 Preparation” must have already been completed.

1.

Insert the alignment tape (ZR5-1/1P), and locate the TC
00:00:00:00 position of the tape by playing back or oth-
er operational modes and stop the tape near the TC
00:00:00:00 position while observing the display win-

dow.

2.

Start up the EQ ADJUSTMENT menu item by operat-
ing the rotary encoder (on the front panel). (Adjustment
time: about 7 minutes)
. VCA adjustment
. SPEED adjustment
. COS adjustment
. PHASE adjustment
. V REF adjustment

When the adjustment has ended successfully, the tape is

ejected automatically and the message “ADJUST OK!”

appears.

If the adjustment failed, the tape is ejected automatical-

ly and the message “ADJUST NG!” appears. If the ad-

justment has failed, repeat the adjustment starting from

step (1).

Play back the alignment tape (ZR5-1/1P).

2.

Check that the CONDITION display of the ERROR
RATE item shows the following status.

(The round black mark (  ) or the cross mark (

x) i.e.,

other than the white round mark (O), must not be dis-
played for 3 seconds or longer.)

If the adjustment still fails, repeat the playback equaliz-

er automatic adjustment starting from step (1) of the ad-

justment.

When “6-5-3 Recording Current Automatic Adjustment”

has not been performed, return the settings of the following

switches to their default positions.
