Two generation-backward, read-and-

write media compatibility provides

investment protection and enables an

easy migration or upgrade path for

legacy DDS/DAT users.

Utilizing a USB 2.0 interface allows for

plug-and-play internal connectivity for

simplified out of the box setup. The

native USB interface not only delivers a

fast and easy installation, but enables

server ports to be widely available. It

also eliminates the need for an addi-

tional host-bus adapter, which enables

a lower-cost implementation.

IBM DDS Generation 5 delivers a

capacity of up to 72 GB on a single

data cartridge and a transfer rate of up

to 22 GBph

with DDS-3 and DDS-4/DAT 40 media.

The IBM DDS Generation 6 provides

optimum capacity and performance,

while maintaining the traditional

DDS/DAT low total cost of ownership

and backward read-and-write

ers a compressed capacity of up to

160 GB on a single data cartridge and
