About Installing the IP Dome
Installing the IP dome involves mounting it by using a conduit case or a pendant.
Mounting options include the following:
  •
Conduit case mounting—Use this method
with the provided conduit case in
situations where you cannot cut a hole through a surface for cables or where cables
run through a small hole in a surface
  •
Pendant mounting—
You can mount the IP dome 253x series to a wall with an
optional pendant and wall mount assembly
The IP dome requires a connection to a network via a a shielded twisted pair (STP)
category 5 or higher network cable. The IP dome also requires power from a
customer-supplied table-top or rack-mounted 24 VAC power supply. The 24 VAC
source must be isolated from the ground (floating output).
In addition, you can use the following optional devices with the IP dome:
  •
External speaker
  •
External microphone
  •
Up to two external input devices and up to two external output devices
