mode, and the disc is labeled.

If you want to check the remaining time or the recording position while 
recording or in stop mode, see page 30.

The AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) function keeps down 
the maximum volume to protect your ears.

Press MENU (EDIT for 2 seconds or more), press 
<SELECT, (flip the lever towards > or .) repeatedly 
until “AVLS” flashes in the display, and then press ENTER 
(ENTER).

Press 

<SELECT, (flip the lever towards > or .) 

repeatedly until “AVLS ON” flashes in the display, and then 
press ENTER (ENTER).
When you try to turn the volume too high, “AVLS” flashes in the 
display. The volume is kept to a moderate level.
