Recording Karaoke
 
Here’s how the sound from a karaoke CD and the sound of your voice from a mic can be 
recorded together to an SD memory card (i.e., overdubbing that adds your voice or 
performance to a song from CD).
The CD-2i provides a Center Cancel function, which lets you use a commercial CD as a simple 
karaoke source. For details, refer to “Enjoying Simple Karaoke (Center Cancel)” (Page 80).
 
* In order to perform this operation, you’ll need the included, dedicated AC adaptor.

Turn on the power

Insert the SD memory card for recording

Connect your mic to the EXT MIC jack located on the CD-2i’s side panel.

Select the External mics.

Press the [MENU] button to access the menu screen.
Use the [
] [
] buttons to choose “MIC Select.”
Press the [ENTER] button to confirm your choice.
Use the [+] [-] buttons to change the value to select 
“External.“

On the CD-2i’s left side, set the [MIC LEVEL] switch to its “MANUAL” 
position.

When connecting one mic (monaural)
When connecting two mics (stereo)
 
Connect to the MONO jack (XLR type) or the 
L/MONO jack.
* If you connect it to the R jack, only the right 
channel (R) will be recorded.
The sound from the mic connected to the L/
MONO jack will be recorded on the left 
channel (L), and the sound from the mic 
connected to the R jack will be recorded on the 
right channel (R).
