Multi Operations
Multi operations allow you to tell the receiver and your other components to do a number of things with the push of
only two buttons on the remote control. For example, you can program the unit to turn on your TV, turn on your DVD
player and start playing the loaded DVD. This allows you to freely decide which operations you want performed as
well as the order in which you want them performed. The steps below show you how to program a string of up to 5
different operations for each MULTI CONTROL button. You don’t need to program power commands for this receiver
or any other Pioneer components. They will automatically turn on when a multi operation is performed.
(Programming Pioneer video components automatically turns on Pioneer TVs.)
Memo:
• Be sure to set up each component before programming multi operations (see “Setting Up the Remote Con-
trol to Control Other Components” on page 65).
• To exit from the REMOTE SETUP mode at anytime press the REMOTE SETUP button.
1 While holding down the REMOTE
SETUP button press 3 to select the
multi operation setup mode.
The LED begins to blink.
To cancel the multi operation setup mode press REMOTE
SETUP.
2 Select a MULTI CONTROL button for
this multi operation.

Each MULTI CONTROL button can be used for one multi
operation. If a multi operation relates to using a DVD
player, for example, it makes sense to select the DVD/LD
button.
3 Press the MULTI CONTROL button for
the component that will perform the
