General
Dr. Bott PMS – personal and dedicated mail server designed for 1-50 users. Configuration
and maintenance take place via a clean web interface that offers help on every object. Every
eMail address can be assigned an unlimited number of alias addresses. PMS lets you
manage and control all mail directly and without any intermediate.
Integration
PMS works as a POP3, IMAP and SMTP Server and integrates with the local network via
Ethernet. The system has two fundamental methods to integrate you into the global eMail
system:
1 – Retrieving mail from external systems
Each user's mail account on the Internet is polled at regular intervals for new mail, which is
retrieved and held available locally. Each user may integrate an unlimited number of external
mail accounts. Dr. Bott PMS also supports domain-wide POP3 accounts (Multidrop or
Catchall accounts) and will automatically assign mail from such accounts to matching PMS
users.
2 – Direct mail server integration via MX Record
PMS gets a public IP address and acts as the primary mail server for the assigned domains.
This configuration eliminates the need for eMail providers or external administrators.
Both methods can be used in parallel and could be combined flexibly!
Permanent personal IP on board (optional)
Many users have Internet access without a fixed IP address. Dr. Bott PMS offers the optional
Permanent Personal IP as a simple and very effective solution. PPIP is an addition that does
not change your regular connection and a free 12 month trial (with 15 GB monthly traffic) is
included with PMS.
PPIP connects Dr. Bott PMS safely and securely to the Internet via SSL/TLS and works with
any router, even when NAT is activated. PPIP is limited to the PMS, access from the Internet
to the rest of your network is not possible.
Pushmail service for iPhone
PMS supports Pushmail services for iPhone and iPod touch. Flip the switch and receive your
mail without delay on your iPhone or iPod touch!
Data protection
PMS offers backup to a separate USB hard disk or on a remote FTP server. The backup files
are AES-encrypted, which provides perfect protection against data or hardware theft!
All eMail is stored in an encrypted format. In the highest security setting the system can only
be started after entering the master password that is also used to encrypt all the data. This
prevents any unauthorized access – even in the event of hardware theft or loss!
Virus & SPAM
PMS sports integrated virus and spam filters that automatically move undesired messages
to a separate email folder.
