Lights up when DOLBY DIGITAL Surround sound is reproduced.
Lights up when DTS Surround sound is reproduced.
Using Onkyo's original sound effects – DSP (Digital Signal Processor) selection
While playing back sources other than DOLBY DIGITAL and DTS Surround sounds, you can select the desired DSP mode.
Press SURROUND MODE on the remote controller or DVD
Receiver repeatedly until the desired DSP mode appears
in the DVD Receiver's display.
The DSP indicator lights up when one of the DSP modes is selected.
Each press of the button changes the DSP mode as follows:
STEREO
DOLBY PRO LOGIC*
ORCHESTRA
UNPLUGGED
STUDIO-MIX
TV LOGIC
5CH STEREO
* If "NONE" is set to the surround speakers’ configurations, "3 STEREO" (DOLBY 3 STEREO) appears instead of "DOLBY
PRO LOGIC.”
If "NONE" is set to the center speaker’s and surround speakers’ configurations, this selection will be skipped.
Notes
• When DOLBY DIGITAL Surround sound is reproduced, you can select only "DOLBY DIGITAL" or "STEREO."
• When DTS Surround sound is reproduced, you can select only "DTS" or "STEREO."

Changing the output sound signal format
of the DVD video/audio CD
You can change the format of the sound signal
being output via the speakers and output jacks
using the menu (see page 40).
This means, for example, even if DOLBY
DIGITAL Surround sound is played by the DVD
Receiver, you can output sound to the
speakers in the 48 kHz/16 bit format, which
enables you to use the DSP sound effects
below instead of DOLBY DIGITAL Surround.
