NEC Public Displays come with an option slot which extends the interfaces and functionality of the products. Some of the 
available option slot products are ideal for a combination of IP 55 cabinet and public displays to form a complete solution 
without any external PCs or players outside the cabinet.

1) Single Board Computer (SBC)
NEC  offers  3  different  kinds  of  SBC 
with  different  performance  levels  to 
meet  the  demand  of  our  customers. 
The  complete  solution  consisting  of 
IP55  cabinet,  display  and  SBC  only 
needs  a  power  outlet  and  is  a  true 
stand alone solution if the PC is loaded 
with  content  through  optional  WLAN. 
These full scale PCs are also covered 
with  a  full  3  year  NEC  warranty  and 
don’t require any maintenance.  

2) NEC Media Player 
This  device  is  a  complete  and  cost 
efficient  digital  signage  solution.  The 
solution  comprises  non-PC  hardware 
and  easy  to  use  software.  When 
integrated  in  an  IP55  cabinet  content 
should  be  updated  through  a  LAN 
(updating content through USB is also 
possible  but  not  convenient  in  this 
case). 

3)  NEC  video  over  CAT5  extension 
Sometimes  multiple  displays  need 
to  show  the  same  content  but  are 
located in different parts of a building 
such  as  a  shopping  mall.  The  NEC 
video  over  CAT5  solution  allows  the 
customer to put up to 128 Displays up 
to  600m  away  from  the  source  while 
maintaining  excellent  picture  quality. 
Besides  a  power  outlet  this  solution 
also needs a CAT5 connection the way 
the media player solution does.
