Selecting Print Materials
You can print on a variety of print materials, such as plain paper, envelopes,
labels, and transparencies. Always use print materials that meet the
guidelines for use with this machine. See Paper Specifications on page 11-9
To get the best possible print quality, use only high-quality copier-grade paper.
When you choose print materials, consider the following:
Size: See Supported Sizes of Paper on page 11-7 for paper size
specifications.
Weight: 16 ~ 24 lb (60 to 90 g/m
2
) for the tray when feeding multiple
pages, and 16 ~ 43 lb (60 to 165 g/m
2
) for the manual tray and the tray
when feeding a single page.
Brightness: Some papers are whiter than others and produce sharper,
more vibrant images.
Surface smoothness: The smoothness of the paper affects how crisp the
printing looks on the paper.
CAUTION:
Using print materials that do not conform to the
specifications listed on page 11-9 may cause problems that may require
service. This service is not covered by the warranty or service
agreements.
