Enjoying the Home Theater
Digital signals this unit can play:
Dolby Digital (including Dolby Digital Surround EX), DTS (including DTS-ES and DTS 96/24) and PCM (
á page 39)
• The unit memorizes whether [SURROUND] has been pressed
on or off for each input source.
• The setting always switches from off to on when the input comes
from a surround source in Dolby Digital, DTS or other formats.
• When you press [SURROUND] off while playing a surround
source (excluding a DVD-Audio source that does not allow
down-mixing), 2-channel mix (2CH MIX) activates.
2-channel mix is canceled when you turn the unit off or when
you switch input sources.
• The “SURROUND” indicator goes off when the sampling
frequency for the input signal is higher than 96 kHz.
• The number of source channels appears on the display when
a digital signal is input or input sources are switched. (Their
number may not appear depending on the selected source.)
• The unit is compatible with linear PCM 8-channel surround
signals decoded by the BD player and other equipment (up to
96 kHz/24 bit). See the operating instructions for equipment
used for playback.
