Firmware
Firmware is a category of memory chips that hold their
content without electrical power and include ROM, PROM,
EPROM and EEPROM technologies. Firmware becomes
“hard software” when holding program code.
This “hard software” is kept in semi-permanent memory. It
will not be forgotten when the power is shut off. Firmware
programs can be altered, and are frequently revised.
An EPROM is typically erased by using intense ultraviolet
light.
Identifying Your Current Firmware Version
You may be asked for the firmware version number if you
call for service. Your Authorized OKIDATA Service Dealer

Upgrading Your Firmware

location of the nearest Authorized OKIDATA Service Dealer.
Serial Number of Your Fax Machine
